How to - Contacting Spirit Guides

Contacting Spirit Guides
Spirit Guides - Who They Are and How to Contact Them

About Spirit Guides

Spirit Guides are invisible beings of light who offer support, guidance, companionship and teaching to you throughout your life. Everyone has at least 1 or 2 constant Guides (others come and go as needed). These are Guides who were with you when you were born and will remain with you for your entire lifespan. They are old friends of your soul.

Our 3rd Dimension and Beyond

How To - Consecration Of Tools

Typically as you collect tools for use in ritual, you will need to consecrate them. Just what is consecration, and how do you do it?

The dictionary defines consecration as “dedication to the service and worship of a deity”. So in plain English, you are ritually setting an object aside for the express use for worship of the Gods.

This concept of consecrating tools is relatively new as far as Witchcraft is concerned. It has also lead to some odd and interesting ideas on what a ritual tool must be.

There are many books that tell you that an Athame must be a black handled, double edged knife. While this may be considered traditional, as with most everything else in the Craft, it really comes down to what you feel is right for you.

What do you believe your Athame must look like? Do you really need that $200 hand forged, Damascus steel blade for your ritual knife, or will that cheap knock off from Pakistan, you found at at the 99 Cent Store do?

How to - Cast Open Circle

Everything else builds on this one basic skill.
Do it right.

There are numerous resources both in books and on the web, for learning how to cast Circle, and perform ritual. Most state similar techniques, and this will probably be no different. Circle casting is done a specific way because the act of casting begins the process of attuning your subconscious to the awareness of forces that are not normally recognized.

How To - Closing the Circle

After you have completed your Working, and enjoyed something to eat and drink, you have one last part of the ritual to complete.  You must take down the Circle.  While opening the Circle can be the quickest part of the ritual to do, it is one of the most important.

There are a lot of Witches who rush through this part, or fail to fully Banish what they have Invoked.  Banishing is probably the most important thing you will learn how to do.  If you know how to Banish properly, it won’t matter what you may encounter, you will be able to deal with it.

Every teacher I have ever worked with has always taught their students how to Banish before they teach how to Invoke, or Evoke.  The reason for this is that when you are learning how to Invoke, if your will isn’t properly focused, or your mind wanders, you may bring to you something other than you intend.  If you know how to Banish properly, you can send whatever you might call, back to where it belongs.

How To Call the Corners - Calling The Quarters

Before reading this, you should have read Opening the Circle, and be comfortable with Banishing.

Having Cast your Circle, you now have a Sacred Space in which to perform your Working.  You cleansed then defined this space when you cast the Circle earlier.  By doing this, you changed the area from mundane, to Sacred.  Sacred Space allows you to work outside the physical plane.  The area within the Cast Circle is now part of the Spiritual Plane.

The Circle serves two purposes.  It holds any energy that you may raise in ritual so that you can tap into it and direct it.  It also protects you and everyone within it, from whatever forces may be encountered in the Spiritual plane.  The Spiritual plane is an area of the super natural.  Super means above, so this Spiritual plane is above the natural plane.  It is not unnatural, it is super natural.

Spirit Guide Info and How To Contact.

The first thing you need to Figure out is, What Your Feeling or seeing is a Spirit Guide.

Let's Say You manage to contact what you think is a spirit guide - by way of a Ouija board or other method of divination -- and the next thing you know, things are getting weird.
If any of this sounds familiar, then chances are that what you've connected to, is not a spirit guide at all.

What are some of the legitimate types of spirit guides?

Many people believe they have spirit guides, angels or guardians. Regardless, if you believe you have one, a spirit guide is there simply to guide, not as an entity that you need to give yourself over to.

Meditation Exercises

Visualized Meditations:

Each of the following visualized meditations have a common beginning, the lighting of a 'spiritual' candle, saying a prayer for assistance, and a process for a visualized protection of yourself and your surroundings. Remember these are only suggestions. Variations of these techniques or others not discussed here may work better for you.

Witchcraft Symbols

Witchcraft Symbols

There are many Witchcraft symbols.  Magick is a symbolic Path.  Pagan symbols can be found in the most unexpected places, including churches.  When they rebuild Windsor Castle after the fire, Prince Charles was quite excited that one of his favorite things was restored in the renovation. It was a Green Man in one of the stairways.

What follows is a list of symbols that every Witch should know.

The Wiccan Rede

The Wiccan Rede

Bide within the Law you must, in perfect Love and perfect Trust.
Live you must and let to live, fairly take and fairly give.

For tread the Circle thrice about to keep unwelcome spirits out.
To bind the spell well every time, let the spell be said in rhyme.

Light of eye and soft of touch, speak you little, listen much.
Honor the Old Ones in deed and name, let love and light be our guides again.

Deosil go by the waxing moon, chanting out the joyful tune.
Widdershins go when the moon doth wane, and the werewolf howls by the dread wolfsbane.

'An It harm None...?

'An It harm None...?
Just what do the words “‘An it harm none, do what thou will” mean?
The Christians have their Ten Commandments, which they use to determine right from wrong, witches have The Rede.
The Christians seem to be happy with their ten rules for living a good life, and that’s fine, but they were written for a time WAY different then now a-days.

That’s not to say the Ten Commandments are no longer of use.  The Commandments that were more important to a culture thousands of years ago, may not be as important to today’s culture.
Most of the Commandments still make sense. They are things such as honor your parents, don’t murder, don’t steal, but I’ve always wondered how certain Commandments makes anyone’s life better. For Instance:  Don't Take God's Name in vain, and Don't Worship graven images, Idolatry.
I mean, if you take the Catholic churches own view, they are breaking the a Commandment by using the Crucifix. After all, they state very clearly that Christ was God among men. He was the son of God. By their own teachings, He is in Heaven, so doesn’t the crucifix count as a graven image?
I don’t use this to knock the Christian Church, I’m only pointing out that they dhe Three-fold Law.
The last sentence is what everyone knows and remembers, ‘an it harm none, do what you will.
Most people when they first hear this, believe it is license to do anything you wish.
After all, it does say do what you will.
It’s the first four words that make all the difference.
If, and only if it harms none, you can do whatever you like.
